Parkinson’s Exercise Study
Researchers at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center conducted a study looking at how different types of exercise impact the walking ability of people with Parkinson’s disease.   Three groups of Parkinson’s patients were tested using specific forms of exercise for each.  Principal investigator Lisa Shulman, M.D. states, “Our study showed that 50 minutes of low-intensity treadmill training three times a week reduces disability and improves mobility in Parkinson’s disease.”
