Mike Seckler was appointed Permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Evome Medical in July 2023, following one month as interim CEO. He has more than 30 years of life sciences experience commercializing and developing innovative medicines, medical devices, and diagnostics for patients across a wide range of therapeutic areas.
Prior to Salona, Mike was the COO of FerGene where he was responsible for establishing a groundbreaking joint venture between Blackstone Life Sciences and Ferring International Center SA. He led the global development and commercialization efforts for ADSTILADRIN, an innovative gene therapy approved for the treatment of bladder cancer.
Mike has also held several executive leadership positions with Ferring Pharmaceuticals, a multi-billion-dollar company based in Switzerland, where he was the General Manager of its $100M Canadian subsidiary; Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Corporate Communications; and Orthopedics Business Unit leader.
Mike honed his expertise at Pfizer and Merck, where he held various leadership positions in marketing, sales, and market access. Mike obtained a B.S. in Health Sciences as well as an M.B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University. He was previously a board member of GlyPharma, a Montreal-based developer of innovative therapeutic medicines, and K2 Biotechnology Ventures, an organization dedicated to founding and operating life science companies emerging from universities
Gordon Bean joined EVOME Medical Technologies as the VP of Finance in May 2024 and was recently promoted to Chief Financial Officer. He has over 20 years of senior financial leadership in manufacturing, life sciences, professional services and other areas. He began his professional career as an auditor.
Prior to EVOME, Gordon was the Corporate Controller at 3Step Sports, the largest provider of youth sports activities in the country. There he was responsible for all aspects of accounting, including treasury, collections, payables, audit and payroll. Before that he was the Corporate Controller at Keolis Transit America, a division of Keolis, which is a 6.5 billion Euro a year transportation company. In addition to managing the accounting and reporting function at Keolis Transit America, he played an integral role in the implementation of the new ERP system.
Gordon is a licensed CPA and has been one since 2000. Gordon has a Master’s degree in Accounting from Bentley College where he graduated with Distinction. He also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Psychology from Concordia University. In his spare time, he writes fiction and has since published three books with a fourth on the way.
William was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Sales on October 1, 2023. William has over 35 years of life sciences experience in commercial leadership, new product launches and optimizing sales and sales operations. William has previously held marketing and sales leadership positions with PAI Pharmaceuticals, Quintiles, The Caswood Group and Schering Plough.
William has a long history of opening new and expanding existing sales channels for a broad spectrum of life sciences products including branded pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical services, and outsourced sales and tele sales functions.
William has a BA degree from Bernard Baruch College, C.U.N.Y.
Carmine Tronolone assumed the role of General Manager at Biodex in August 2023, bringing with him an impressive background in manufacturing and a passion for fostering a culture of innovation.
Carmine is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in manufacturing. His career has been defined by a remarkable aptitude for leadership, where he has consistently achieved outstanding results across various departments and projects.
In his current capacity as General Manager, Carmine oversees every facet of the production department. His primary focus is ensuring the efficient and effective manufacturing of products, aligned with Biodex’s strategic objectives and uncompromising quality standards.
Carmine is a graduate of Binghamton University. He has also earned a Master’s Certificate in Lean Manufacturing from the University of Michigan. When he is not working, Carmine enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys playing bocce ball and watching the Buffalo Bills on Sundays.
Shahidul Mahfuz is an experienced Engineer and a Designer, with over 22 years of experience in leading and developing high-performing engineering teams. Known for his exceptional technical acumen and strong leadership skills, Shahidul has a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions and driving projects to successful completion.
In his current role as Engineering Manager at Biodex, oversees a team of engineers and is responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge products. He has been with Biodex for 12+ years. With his dedication to innovation, strong leadership, and technical expertise, he is committed to achieving excellence in engineering and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within his teams. He is very passionate about User eXperience (UX) that makes Biodex product more useful at practical level. Lead the deign team for Biodex’s flagship product ensuring UX.
Throughout his career, Shahidul has worked in various industries, including software development, commercial bank, and manufacturing. He is highly skilled in project management, resource allocation, and fostering a collaborative work environment. His ability to align engineering goals with business objectives has consistently resulted in increased efficiency and product quality.
Shahidul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration, which provides him with a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. He completed his certification of Google Project Management, and Google UX Design in 2021. Outside of work, he enjoys staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and spending time with family.
Heydi Benson assumed the role of Director of Human Resources at Evome in August of 2023. Heydi is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over a decade of experience in the field. As the Director of Human Resources at Biodex Medical systems, Heydi has been instrumental in shaping the company’s HR policies and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Heydi began her career in HR after earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating a keen understanding of employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational development. Her ability to navigate complex HR challenges and implement effective solutions has earned her a reputation as a trusted leader and advisor.
Throughout her career, Heydi has been committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive environment, including the development of mentorship programs and diversity training workshops. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family.
