This Election Day, Biodex welcomed eighteen middle school and high school teachers to their corporate building in Shirley, New York for their annual Teacher’s Professional Development Day.
Each Election Day, school teachers are required to participate in developmental activities that will enhance their knowledge of how the subjects they teach are applied in the workplace. Visitors to the Biodex facility were provided with a firsthand look at Long Island manufacturing. This was Biodex’s second year hosting the teachers.
The day began with a Q&A session, followed by the real highlight: a tour through the Biodex fabrication building. The goal is that the experience will spark ideas about how teachers can use what they learned about Long Island’s manufacturing industry to educate students and parents. This knowledge can be crucial in helping parents and students decide on college and potential career paths.
